Auction of Promises and Fix-its
Cheltenham Samaritans, as one of the Mayor's Charities, held a highly successful Auction of Promises at Sacred Hearts Church Hall, Moorend Road, Cheltenham on Friday 4 September 2009 raising over £3,500 to be shared between the four charities.
The mayor, Lloyd Surgenor, and his wife were joined by over seventy people who enjoyed a light meal and a glass of wine before the formal proceedings got underway.

Auctioneer, Nick Granger from the Tewkesbury Auction House took centre stage for the main event. He, and his assistant Dave, provided a perfect blend of humour and professionalism as they auctioned off more than fifty lots including:
- tea on the Terrace with a tour of Parliament for 4 people
- lunch for 2 at the House of Lords
- use of a flat in Central London for the weekend (sleeps 4)
- a day’s golf at Naunton Downs Golf Club
- 18-pint cask of Battledown beer of your choice
- a bottle of House of Lords Champagne
- a family ticket to Cotswold Farm Park
- 2 tickets for Prescott Hill Climb on 5 September 2009
- highlights, cut and blowdry
- a pamper package
