Mayor of Cheltenham's Charity Appeal: Auction of Promises.
Bid for a tour of Parliament with your local MP

Cheltenham Samaritans, as one of the Mayor's Charities, is to hold an Auction of Promises at 8.30 pm on Friday 4 September 2009. All members of the public are welcomed to come along to Sacred Hearts Church Hall, Moorend Road, Cheltenham and bid for the items which include:
- Tea on the Terrace and a tour of Parliament (for 4 people) with Martin Horwood MP
- Lunch for 2 at the House of Lords
- Use of a flat in Central London for the weekend (sleeps 4)
- A day’s golf at Naunton Downs Golf Club
- 18-pint cask of Battledown beer of your choice
- Bottle of House of Lords Champagne
- Family ticket to Cotswold Farm Park
- 2 tickets for Prescott Hill Climb on 5 September 2009
- Highlights, cut and blowdry
- and a pamper package.
In total 55 promises and fix-its are being auctioned by a highly experienced, local auctioneer and credit card facilities will be available. Telephone bids can be accepted on 01242 529387 until 12 noon on 4 September 2009.

This year the Mayor of Cheltenham's Charity Appeal (Registered Charity 1118165) is supporting the following four charities: Alzheimer's Society, Maggie's, the Sea Cadet Corps and Samaritans.
It is the aim of Samaritans to make emotional health a mainstream issue. Samaritans' vision is for a society where fewer people die by suicide because people are able to share feelings of emotional distress openly without fear of being judged. Samaritans believes that offering people the opportunity to be listened to in confidence, and accepted without prejudice, can alleviate despair and suicidal feelings.
