NHS Gloucestershire's Charity of the Year 2010
Samaritans - Cheltenham and Gloucestershire branches
It takes so much for someone to call Samaritans.
So much courage. So much pain. So much desperation. Sometimes our callers have reached the final breaking point after years of loneliness, depression, stress or even abuse. Others may be trying to cope with a sudden, traumatising event, such as the break-up of a marriage, the loss of a job or a recent bereavement.
Whatever the reason that someone calls us, it is vital that when that moment comes, whether it be day or night, we are ready to answer the cry for help. We are even open on Christmas Day.
But we need your help - to keep those phone lines open.
During this recession your financial support is more important than ever before. We receive no Government funding for a service that provides a desperately needed lifeline to many people. Please give generously and remember that if you are a UK tax payer your donation goes much further with Gift Aid.
Donate online
If you would like to make a donation, to be shared between the Cheltenham and Gloucester branches of Samaritans, by credit or debit card, we have a secureĀ online donation facility, in association with JustGiving. Donating is quick, easy, and cost effective - your donation will be shared by the two charities and we gift aid can be claimed if you are a UK taxpayer.
